About Us

“Upcrafting is all about recycling and reusing things. It’s about making something better, doing things cheaply, and about using your skills instead of your credit card.”

Upcraft.it tries to be a little bit different from other craft sites. We don’t always give you detailed how-to guides, parts lists, or step by step instructions. We don’t always explain every step of a production process in minute detail. We give you the important details about a project, and assume that you will be crafty enough to fill in the blanks for yourself.

But, don’t worry. We do understand that you might not have all of the skills you need for a particular project, and that’s why we have a selection of Basics articles. The Basics articles are designed give you a starting point for learning a new skill, with a few tips and tricks thrown in for good measure. We believe that once you have the Basics under your belt, you can learn the rest at your own pace.

TheĀ Upcraft.it team works hard to bring you new and interesting stories, but we won’t be upset if you want to see other craft sites or magazines. In fact, we actively promote some magazines, because we think they offer fantastic value for money, high quality content, and superb community support. O’Reilly’s Make and Craft magazine are two of our favourites, and the Perri Lewis’ “Make and Do with Perri” always has some interesting content.

If you have a particular project that you would like to see featured on upcraft.it, send us a message via the contact form, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
