Water Bottle Biltong Maker
I wanted to make some biltong this week, but rather than go all out and build a drying box, I decided to hack together this little drying bottle from an old water bottle and a computer fan. The whole project took about 15 minutes, and I have to say that it works exceptionally well.
All you have to do to is to cut a hole in the side of the bottle, and fix a fan to to blow air through the hole. I used an 80mm computer case fan, held in place with cable ties and hot glue. Make some holes so that you can hang things inside, and cut off the top of the bottle at the point where it becomes square.
I made a little filter top by cutting the center of the screwcap away, and putting in some brass mesh. As an alternative, just remove the lid or use a thin fabric top. Hold the fabric in place with an elastic band or some twine.
