Recipe: Pork Ribs in Honey
I recently used this marinade in an article I produced for Craft Magazine, and I’m pleased to be able to share it with you here, too. These ribs only take a few minutes to prepare, and the marinade works equally well on belly draft, pork chops, chicken wings, or even Quorn fillets.
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 2 teaspoons of 5 spice seasoning
- 2 teaspoons of dried parsley
- 2 teaspoons of soy sauce
- 1 sheet of pork ribs
Cut the pork into individual ribs. Mix all of the ingredients together in a bowl, coating the ribs thoroughly. Leave the pork to marinade and then cook it in a deep oven tray, in a hot oven (gas mark 7) for approximately 45 minutes. Turn and baste the ribs occasionally during cooking to keep them moist. Finish by turning the oven up to very high (gas mark 9) for a further 10 minutes.
Note: If you are using Quorn, reduce the cooking time to 15 minutes and preheat the oven to very high (gas mark 9).
Serve on a bed of turmeric or egg rice, with a choice of dipping sauces and salad leaves.
