Gardening: The Double-Barrelled Greenhouse
I’m always short of space in my garden, and I feel guilty if I see even a couple of square feet of unusable soil. For some time, I have been taunted by the gap between my two greenhouses. When I broke one of the windows, I decided to make the best of a bad situation by inventing the double-barrelled greenhouse.
By removing one side of the greenhouse, I was able to graft the roof and remaining side onto my other greenhouse. I had effectively removed one side of the greenhouse, gotten rid of the annoying gap between the two buildings, and gained enough spare glass to replace any broken panes I might get in the future.
I am very pleased with the result of my greenhouse grafting experiment. I get spares for my greenhouse, more space in my garden, and (by removing a pane of glass) the ability to heat both greenhouses with a single radiator.
